Forests are New Zealand’s largest sustainable resource. The forestry and wood processing sector is a major contributor to the economy, jobs and rural communities. The sector employ approximately 40,000 people in forestry, wood transport and processing. It is New Zealand’s fourth largest export earner with $6.6 billion in export earnings.
The Forest and Wood Processing Industry Transformation Plan (ITP) sets out a vision and actions that will drive growth, create jobs and underpin New Zealand's low-carbon future.
